Wandering Mind

Wandering Mind
Time to reflect...

I think that as color, TIME is WHITE.

It is a whoosh, like a cloud, like a stream of racing water, like a foam on dark water.
Like steam...WHITE.

Time Passes Us.

Time passes us but we snatch at it...
Holding onto memories and special things too wonderful to let go.

We leap forward in time, thinking of what we should do and when we should do it?

We leap backwards in time wondering what if?
Then we try different things.

Time schedules us, we schedule time...but do we ever capture it?

White time, that no one can see.
Time is a fog.

Time Passes Us!

Wandering Mind

Wandering Mind

Is Christmas time a color of RED?...as in Red Alert!
I think it IS!

I like my days to be governed by color...is this why I "do" my eyes to co-ordinate with my clothing?
[NO! I do not wear black like raccoon eyes, when I wear a black outfit!]

OK, The mind is wandering...I told ya so!

As the season is upon us the decor is up, such as it is with the kittens...like: UP HIGH!
Red is the theme.
I find red is a like a swirling piece of soft silk, is it blowing in the winter wind to signify celebration? In my ipinion red does say: Party!

I feel good in red.

So far my paper art for this christmas is in red.
[Just pick a color and run with it like scissors..whoops, that could really bring out the red couldn't it?]
Red paper is expensive and hard to find in the exact red you want. Target ads are red...good paper!

I loved the video of Garth Brooks with an all white scene and a white grand piano, color eventually washed over the scene. It was exciting!

Let's hear it for COLOR. Today RED!
Rah Rah!

Red is in the AZ sunsets.
Red is in the silk table runner I got in China.
Red and gold is a very exciting combo. I found red and gold yarn, made a scarf with a slightly watermellon red and the red/gold...it is warm.
Red is our pick up truck...racy!

Usually we think of red as warm...unless of course there is only a body suit of red and you are in a snowbank...not warm.
That scene could be funny; as in Santa in his red long johns!

Time to slide off in a RED Haze, and come back later...will a different color return with me, or will RED duke it out for top spot again?

Wandering Mind

Wandering Mind

Waa-Hooee! After a long delay...
[Thanks for the comments to support me in my terror of the circs!]

I am "moving and shaking again" and have my purple "throw" to fringe to complete, after giving the circular needles a run for thier money...
even with breaking one, at the connection of needle to line.
Sad but true.
I caught all the stitches with a needle and yarn and only lost two rows. Ah, the agony of the poor gray needle.
The needle said: "It is your fault you bent me too hard!"
Mea Culpa.

I am in a true purple/pink haze now.
Loving color as always!
It is a haze from the Irish Isles, heather colors in one finished legwarmer and the next started.
Pale pink Angora and a mixed dark magenta/purple yarn.
Four needle construction, not my fav!

I cry out for another project...might I do a quick warming cap of blue homespun, with blue/green fuzzy, just for fun?
No, tell the truth-it is a request from a niece. Must do, to keep her noggin' warm!

I have to say, knitting in any color right now is "KUNG FOO FIGHTING"...two kittens!
Late evening kitten naps give me time to knit...so I am off!

Summer Synopsis..So far

My poor wandering mind has been followed with the wandering body...never home, never on the blog site.
So sad that life is so busy/so crazy.
Have had days of great creativity...something new and of course, colorful!

BEADS!!
I found that the colors of the world are also in the reach of the "bead addict"...add this to the compulsions I face daily!
Earrings are my first projects.
More beading stories later.

YARN!
...colorful of course, although the white/creams are also intrieging.
New yarns in pretty nuby pastels. [A scarf was already "born."]
New yarns with the pizzaz of glittery metallic...waiting in the darkness of the mundane plastic sack. Maybe it is insulted to have it's beauty left in annonymity of the darkness..and on the bedroom floor no less!
Beginning a new scarf tonight...jewel blues!

Color Me Knitting

Color me knitting.

The mind is twisting as the yarn moves along the sticks! Color concepts have found a home with yarns and strings and shines of color, a world where the fibers catch the light. All colors can be Queen here in the Knit Kingdom of the "Wandering Mind!"

Purple was a changling and through the yarns it moves to many places. I chose purple to give as a scarf, but the colors of the Heather were so hard to find. Dark black fuzzy, with bits of purple and turquoise were all I could find, to knit with a very dark purple chenille. So be it, but not quite right.
Aha, recently purples have been found, many now are here, available; a new scarf emerged and it was good.

But now something has emerged as a scary thing...Circular needles reside with me. They have no persona, they are gray. Poor sad gray bits of hardware. They need life, but I am afraid of them. I believe knowledge gives them life and I must find it. If I do, they will whisper in the yarns, whisper that they are magical!
I am off in search of some of that magical knowledge and I will ask my sister knitters, for help.

Coming in from Out of the Blue!

I am resisting this...Coming in from out of the blue is hard..I will do it gradually.
Since Purple is a blue/red combo this is a good transition.

Ahh...a purple haze is the mind being treated to a comfort zone with this color...relaxing; do I smell Lavender? Is this wafting from a special part of the rainbow? The morning and the evening, which is this haze?

It is morning and the strong sun is trying to press it's strength over the purple mountains to give the earth a change. A few clouds still cling to the mountain tops, or is this water vapor from the generating plants or the mechanical plants...Oh, relief. It is neither but the soft mist from a mountain pool that causes the purple to hold back the sun just so, across the rocks. If only for a instant longer...
And now, the wandering mind moves on; problem and mystery of the light of morning is solved.

But what of this place at evening? Does the outcrops of wild heather glow stronger in it's color of purple in the evening light?

Wait! the Heather wants to tell of it's bright mid-day tones. They are so showy, the blossoms are so distinct, you won't miss one shade. Look at them: purple, lavender and a blush on the white, of shadowy changing purple, as the light travels across the bloom.

Fine, you've had your say.

This is pulling us into ongoing commentary about purple. Obviously it is a tenacious color... As it won't let go.

Another Day Another Color

It may be a stretch am I out from under the big tree by the stream full of fish or am I still there? Make the mind stretch...Oh, that feels good!
Pop!

Yep it stretched and I find I am in the realm of the Blue Men...BLUE!
Is it comforting or is it awakening?

Today it is comfort.
Blue in a yarn made soft by heavy, strong and noisy machines. There is a smell of engine oil in the air, people wear earplugs and there is a fuzzy blue dust bunny, floating in front of the hard working sweeper's soft mop!The spinners bring forth miles and miles of yarn. It is a slightly faded denim color with lighter blue slubs, it is coming to a store near you.
One near me!
I look. I think and I choose. It is perfect to use with a strong multi color yarn that has also been born of man and machine.
Is it a foreign born? Did this yarn travel? Yes, wonder what tales it could tell if it hadn't been packed into a plastic bag and great brown box?

The mind wanders on...
Are all blues sad, are they meloncholy? I think not, they rise in the sky over clean aired mountain, so how could they be sad or sorry? They sing...you know "sing the blues?" Those blues are a very exclusive color. The color of emotion. Ah, this is where color and feeling mix. How lucky those blues are!
Warm, fuzzy, soft, harsh, vibrant, cool...the color blue can be this in thread or thought.
Which would the color blue wish to be, if given a choice?

Moving on into color again...

Lost in the wonders of that wandering mind, I swoop into: What does the mind require...? Does it just lay in wait like the fishing lure mentioned previously? Again the wind catches this lure and seeks the thoughts which drift back to color; the fish waiting to be caught!

Off goes the "mind-stream," with the fish a flash of color! This time it will be red...a good basic!
Is red the color of heat, blood the dead and dying salmon in the Alaskan stream, coming home to spawn/die. Is this color also about life?

Yes, RED is the color of life.

Give blood it is life, leave blood for someone, as you donate part of yourself. Cover yourself in the red of life; wear a scarf of red knitted yarn. It has a flash of silver in it, the sparkle of the excitement of life!
The flash of silver once also belonged to the salmon. It is gone now but with death is life and the fish lives! Red is the leaf that floats slowly past the fish, it swirls. It changed to red at it's life end and then it begins a cycle not unlike the fish as it goes to the soil. The wearer of the scarf moves on and into the shadow of the tree that sent it's leaf to the soil On the edge of the stream more red is seen in the berries and the dark red bark. Nature is a complex arrangement of red. Learn from the red of the woods and the stream environment.
